The American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) announced that it accepted Dr. Michael S. Shuler as an active member of the organization during the 129th Annual
 Meeting of The American Orthopaedic Association in Seattle, WA.

Membership in The American Orthopaedic Association signifies honor and accomplishment in orthopaedics. AOA members work to expand an already prestigious list of contributions that benefit the entire orthopaedic community.

The American Orthopaedic Association was founded in 1887 and is the oldest orthopaedic association in the world. As the only orthopaedic association solely focused
on leadership, the AOA demonstrates commitment to its mission through programming in leadership development, academic education, and on critical issues facing the entire specialty.

Individuals have always been at the heart of The American Orthopaedic Association. The Association and its distinguished members were largely responsible for the development of orthopaedics as a discipline separate from general surgery, and have been instrumental in the founding of several major orthopaedic organizations.
