About Mason N. Florence, MD

Dr. Florence is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in total joint replacement and reconstruction of the adult hip and knee.

Dr. Florence also has a fellowship in Orthopedic Foot & Ankle surgery, specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive Surgery of the foot and ankle. Anterior Hip Replacement, Mako SmartRobotic Total Knee Replacement and Total Ankle Replacement are several of Dr. Florence’s areas of focus.

Originally from the small town of LaFayette, GA, Dr. Florence attended the University of Georgia where his childhood love for the Dawgs continued. Dr. Florence went on to pursue his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and received his orthopedic surgery training at the Medical College of Georgia as well. With a special interest in foot and ankle, Dr. Florence pursued fellowship training in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle surgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham under the direction of Dr. John S. Gould and Associates. Dr. Florence pursued a second fellowship training in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee at the Athens Orthopedic Clinic in Athens, GA under the direction of Dr. Ormonde Mahoney and Dr. John Manfredi. Dr. Florence sees patients in Athens, Covington, Loganville and Snellville.

Dr. Florence and his wife, Rachel, have three children, Samuel, Caroline, and Anna.  He enjoys golf, skiing, and other outdoor activities with his family.
