Heather Slonaker, PT, DPT, ATP, CKTP, VRT
Heather has experience working with patients of all ages with complex musculoskeletal diagnoses. As a high school and collegiate athlete, Heather experienced rehabilitative medicine first-hand through multiple injuries and surgeries. This perspective fueled her passion for the field of physical therapy where she has enjoyed helping athletes recover from injury and return to competitive play.
Heather came to Athens, GA after working in Tampa, FL with high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams around the Metro area in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Her success helping patients recover and return to competitive play has made her a sought after therapist among athletes, and gymnasts in particular..
Heather specializes in working with with patients with pathology of the spine, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle as well as diagnosis and rehabilitation of concussion and post-concussion syndrome. Heather is certified to provide post-concussion return to sports testing and medical clearance.
Athletes are not her only patients. At Athens Orthopedic Clinic (AOC), Heather treats people with all orthopedic conditions across the lifespan. As AOC's Clinical Excellence Coordinator, Heather's commitment to to helping people recover and develop a better quality of life are evident in the caring and fun environment she strives to creates for all her patients, In her spare time, Heather loves to spend time outdoors, traveling, exercising and being with family and friends.
