Summary

This study looked at how the knee moves during total knee replacement surgery and how that movement can affect surgical measurements. Researchers found that when the knee is bent and tested for balance during surgery, the shinbone (tibia) can shift slightly backward. This shift can make the space in the joint seem larger than it really is, which could affect how surgeons choose the implant size. Understanding this movement can help surgeons make more accurate adjustments during surgery, leading to better fit and movement of the new knee joint.
